COURTHOUSE,
July 6 รข A man from Ecuador in
ICE detention in 26 Federal
Plaza in lower Manhattan filed
a habeas corpus petition in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it. The
petition says he was "forced
to flee his native country due
to violence" and entered the
US through Mexico on November
29, 2023. He was detained on
July 3, placed in 26 Fed, and
filed the petition through his
next friend, the pastor of his
church. The case
was assigned to Judge Lewis J.
Liman. The case is Bravo
v. Francis, et al.,
1:26-cv-5687 (Liman)
