July 17 รข A man from Mali who
was detained by ICE after his
immigration court hearing on
March 2 on July 17 filed
a habeas corpus petition in
the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it. The
petition says, "Respondent
currently holds Mr. Tangara at
the NYC Hold Room at 26
Federal Plaza." For four and a
half months? The case
was assigned to Judge Denise
L. Cote, who ordered the
petitioner not to be moved
from SDNY, EDNY or DNJ absent
further order of the court. The case is
Tangara v. Francis, et al.,
1:26-cv-6056 (Liman)
