SONY Sues Udio for 2d Time in SDNY with 1102 Page List of Sound Recording Allegedly Infringed

SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 20 -- SONY Music has sued Udio for the second time in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York for copyright infringement.

On June 29 in the first case, SDNY Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein denied SONY's motion to expand the case to cover more songs.

So on July 20, SONY filed a second case, with a 1102-page list of Sound Records at Issue. The case has yet to be assigned (or be deemed related to Judge Hellerstein's case). Inner City Press, which has filed in the District of Massachusetts to unseal Suno's training data, found it in the SDNY docket.  Complaint on Patreon here.

The first SDNY case is Sonv Music Entertainment v. Uncharted Labs, Inc., 1:24-cv-04777 (Hellerstein).

The new case is Sonv Music Entertainment v. Uncharted Labs, Inc., et al., 1:26-cv-6120 (Hellerstein).
