Man From Mauritania Detained By ICE in Brooklyn in 2025 Now Files Habeas from MDC

SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 17 รข€“ A man from Mauritania who was detained by ICE on December 15, 2025 near 9501 Avenue I in Brooklyn on July 17  filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it. 

  The petition says he entered the US on May 14, 2025 and is now in MDC Brooklyn.

 The case was assigned to Judge Jennifer H. Rearden; the petitioner's next friend consented to electronic service.

The case is Abdelkerime Hedeye v. Joyce, et al., 1:26-cv-6064 (Rearden)
