SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 27 รข€“ A man allegedly from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in ICE detention filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.

The petition says he was detained solely for visa overstay.

The case went initially to Part 1 Judge Ronnie Abrams who ordered that the petitioner not be moved beyond SDNY, EDNY or the District of New Jersey absent further Order of the court.

Then the case was assigned Judge Edgardo Ramos who ordered a letter from the Government in two days.

The case is Bailey v. Arteta, et al., 1:26-cv-6349 (Ramos)
