COURTHOUSE,
July 28 รข A man from El
Salvador in ICE detention
filed a habeas corpus petition
in the U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York, where Inner City Press
found it. The
petition says his contacts
with law enforcement include
for breaking his own car
window, and riding a bike
without an ID. He was detained
by ICE. He has sued. The case
was assigned to Judge Denise
L. Cote, who ordered that the
petitioner not be moved beyond
SDNY, EDNY or the District of
New Jersey absent further
Order of the court. The case is
J.M.R. v. Arteta, et al.,
1:26-cv-6396 (Cote)
