Woman Who Drove Mercedes Eric Adams Fundraiser Bribed Medina With Gets Probation in EDNY

Woman Who Drove Mercedes Eric Adams Fundraiser Bribed Medina With Gets Probation in EDNY

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

EDNY COURTHOUSE, Sept 28รข€“ On the margins of a three-defendant indictment including Eric Adams fundraiser and hotel owner Weihong Hu and non-profit executive she allegedly bribed, Juan Medina, a woman not in the indictment was up for sentencing on September 28.

Her crime? Moving the Mercedes that Hu had bribed Medina with, once the Eastern District of New York prosecutors moved in.

Having pled guilty to obstruction of justice, Ms. Ortiz on Monday told EDNY Judge Rachel P. Kovner she will not again, in trying to help a friend, put her own future at risk.

And a future she will have: Judge Kovner sentenced her to no jail time, one year probation. Initially this would have included the standard no contact with felons, but after her white shoe CJA lawyer noted she knows a few, the restriction was limited to Juan Medina himself. What about Weihong Hu?

They, with another, appear for now headed to trial in EDNY. And as with Huawei and Emmanuel Clase, Inner City Press will aim to be there to cover it. Watch this site

The ongoing case is USA v. Medina, et al, 1:25-cr-54 (Kovner)
