COURTHOUSE,
Sept 29 รข A woman from The
Gambia was detained by ICE and
told she will be removed to
Ghana. She filed a
habeas corpus petition in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
where Inner City Press found
it. The
petition says that in 2013 an
immigration judge granted her
statutory withholding of
removal to The Gambia. But at
a check-in on September 23 she
was detained. Judge Dale
E. Ho to whom the case was
assigned set an October
hearing. At 8 pm on
September 28 the US Attorney's
Office wrote in "to submit
this letter of non-opposition
to Petitioner's request for
immediate release." On September 29
Judge Ho granted the petition
and attorney's fees, saying to
same the amount as provided by
the local rules. This case is
Wally v. Genalo, et al.,
