COURTHOUSE,
Oct 9 รข A man who began as a
stock broker at the age of 21
was indicted for fraudulent
pitching pre-IPO stocks
through the ironically-named
StraightPath Funds. He pled
guilty in January 2026 and
several times delayed his
sentencing. It was set for
September 30 before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Vernon S. Broderick.
Inner City Press has been
following the case. On
September 18 counsel to
defendant Ibrahim wrote in to
ask for a year and a day
(allowing for "good time"
credit), saying he "made many
mistakes in how he conducted
himself while working for the
funds, owing in no small part
to his poorly managed prior
tenure as a stock broker that
began when he was only 21
years old." Too
much, too fast? On September 30
he was sentenced to 42 months. Co-defendant
Lacaj got the same: 42 months,
with restitution of $46
million, joint and several. The overall case is USA v. Gogliormella, et al., 1:24-cr-362 (Broderick)
