COURTHOUSE,
Sept 25 รข A Bronx man charged
with trafficking firearms into
NYC from South Carolina and
elsewhere is up for sentencing
on September 25 before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge John P. Cronan. Inner
City Press has been following
the case. Defense
counsel wrote in asking for
the five year mandatory
minimum, quoting Focus Forward
that his client has been
changed and now realizes that
"the best things in life don't
cost a penny." He quotes,
inserting his own "sic," the
letter of a BOP supervisor
that his client "assists other
inmates in obtaining there
[sic] GEDs." On September 25
he was sentenced not to 60 but
to 135 months. The case is USA v. Brown, 1:25-cr-241 (Cronan)
