SDNY COURTHOUSE, Sept 23 – At 4:30 pm on September 16, 2024 Inner City Press was told by its SDNY source to expect "the big one" - Sean Combs - the next day in the courtroom here.

At US Attorney Damian Williams' press conference Inner City Press asked if his office would be seeking detention - Yes, he said. Detention memo on Patreon here.

In the run-up to the 2:30 pm hearing Combs' counsel file a bail proposal, with $50 million bond - filing on Patreon here.

On January 22, 2025 Combs from MDC, through his civil firm, sued Courtney Burgess for saying on NewsNation that he's seen videos of Combs' abuses. Complaint on Patreon here

But since Burgess spoke to the grand jury, will this be presented in the criminal case as obstruction or intimidation?

Jump cut to October 28, when counsel for Combs - who is still in the MDC - wrote in to "request that the Court hold oral argument on the motions to dismiss the Amended Complaint filed by Defendants Nexstar Media Inc. and Ariel Mitchell."

On January 27, 2026 Judge Cronan granted Nexstar a stay of deposition discovery - but not of non-deposition discovery, during the pendency of Nexstar's motion to dismiss.

On July 3, 2026, Combs' lawyers filed opposition to Nexstar's motion for discovery into, Combs says, the SDNY criminal case and other allegations - filing on Patreon here

Meanwhile, on October 24 without notice Amazon took down Inner City Press' book, "Diddy Do It" - and all of its other books, citing Ghislaine Maxwell. More here.

Judge Cronan: Mr. Metcalf, you just filed something. Why?

Metcalf: I thought, domicile while incarcerated. Judge Cronan: Is this in the amended complaint?

Sher Tremonte: Our client came to New York with the intention of surrendering. We have not spoken recently

Sher Tremonte's Erica Wolff: We have not been able to speak with our client since the filing.

Judge Cronan: I read in the media that another counsel might be appearing. Wolff: You can't always credit what you see in the media
[Waiting to hear from DWT]

Judge Cronan: Ms. Wolff, I know you are in a difficult position. What about a stay? Wolff: I do not know at this time if our client intends to respond. So please hold it in abeyance. Judge Cronan: I will not rule now on the motion to withdraw by Sher Tremonte

Judge Cronan: Ms. Wolff, file a status letter by October 19. In the interim try to make contact with your client and then tell me what the landscape is, if he'll proceed pro se. If a new lawyer appears, I'll set a conference

On September 23 Tremonte filed a motion to withdraw, explaining it in a declaration that "Mr. Combs has not paid a substantial balance of attorney’s fees, costs, and expenses; and (2) Sher Tremonte’s representation has been rendered unreasonably difficult by Mr. Combs’s lack of cooperation and communication, resulting in a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship. 4. The New York Rules of Professional Conduct permit a lawyer to withdraw as counsel, with the Court’s permission, when inter alia" - full filing on Patreon here.

The criminal case is USA v. Combs, 1:24-cr-542 (Subramanian). This case is Combs v. Burgess, et al., 1:25-cv-650 (Cronan)
