COURTHOUSE,
Sept 22 รข A woman from
Venezuela was detained by ICE
in 26 Federal Plaza with a
pending application for
asylum. She filed a
habeas corpus petition in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York,
where Inner City Press found
it. The
petition says she was detained
on September 21 at a check-in
appointment. Judge
Lewis J. Liman to whom the
case was assigned, and who
recently ordered a man
released from his courtroom,
or after a stop at 26 Federal
Plaza to get his belonging,
has gently asked that the $5
fee be paid. This case is
