Commish Volker Turk Gushes
about Austria as He
Feathers His Nest There

March 18 – How corrupt
and decrepit has the UN system
become under Antonio Guterres,
in this case due to Guterres?
Today's example is again from
the Office of the High
Commission for Human Rights,
to which Guterres appointed
his unqualified crony Volker
Turk more than two years ago.
From OHCHR
staff: "Dear Matthew Russell
Lee, We are so thankful for
your efforts to expose
corruption in today's UN where
conflict of interest is
flagrant. Guterres’ crony,
Human Rights Komisar, Volker
Turk openly favors his country
Austria. In his X account Turk
praises the Austrian League of
Human Rights in his 100
anniversary. It is rare, or
unheard of, that the UN High
Commissioner publicizes this
kind of dates except Turk has
been favoring his native
Austria which is a very minor
contributor to OHCHR. Turk has
been publishing all his
meetings with senior Austrian
officials, he has open a
regional hub in Vienna and
plans to deploy dozens of
staff from Geneva, even though
there is no formal agreement
of immunities and privileges
for the staff that remain
unprotected. That office
in Vienna is headed by his
protege, Australian, Francesco
Motta. While many jobs are cut
many wonders how the
relocation of staff to Vienna
will be funded. Staff wonder
how the blatant of conflict of
interest between Turk and
Austria is tolerated and not
properly investigated. Staff
believes that Volker Turk’s
efforts with Austria are part
of his exit strategy as he
knows that his days in the UN
are numbered once Guterres is
gone. Volker Turk’s appalling
performance make his position
untenable beyond the end of
his term in September2026. He
and all his cronies must go
before they destroy OHCHR." As
with Guterres at UNHQ - Inner
City Press and FUNCA have sent
a questionnaire on
transparency and
accountability to the five (so
far) candidates for UNSG,
watch this site. Inner City Press
re-applied to re-enter the UN
on June 19, 2025 - no answer
at all from Melissa Fleming,
Tel Mekel, Stephane Dujarric
for six months, then a denial
with no reason at all given.
Today's UN is corrupt.
