SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 26 รข€“ Three defendants charged with drugs and in one case firearms were brought in for a bail fight on March 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court. Inner City Press was there.

The lead named defendant was a male with long hair, wearing a Butler, Pennsylvania "Still Standing" T-shirt.

He was ordered detained. Another male was order release once he meet his bail conditions. Still in play as it were was the female, a mother with children:

Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave: The lead named defendant, I order you detained. Because you are a mother with children, I order an expedited home inspection, you will remain detained at least until Friday.

Inner City Press went on Friday, March 20 and live tweeted:

Defense lawyer: Her boyfriend is watching her kids, in apartment across the street. She would be under ACS' watchful eye. My client was working as a home health aide but the client passed so she is between jobs.  AUSA: It's not ACS' job to supervise her

AUSA: The substances and the narcotics were found in her own home. We know, she could have told the FBI there were drugs in her house and didn't, while there was powder and crack cocaine pipe in plain view.

Judge: I want to thank your family members for coming in from Maspeth. But the Government has met its burden - I cannot release you. The drug activity took place in your home, as well as a firearm - the shooting was before the sale you were involved in, but still ...

And on March 26 the middle co-defendant also was ordered to remain detained: "After visiting the Residence, Pretrial Services provided the Court with a report, based on which the Court concluded that the Residence was not a suitable location at which Mr. Dume could live while on pretrial release. Therefore, the Court did not permit Mr. Dume to be released at this time. The Court did indicate, however, that Mr. Dume's counsel could explore alternative residences, and, if one became available, present it to Pretrial Services for another home assessment and renewal of that application for Mr. Dume's pretrial release. Accordingly, Mr. Dume remains DETAINED. (Signed by Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave on 3/26/2026)."

The case is USA v. Ahmed, et al., 1:26-cr-97 (Carter / Cave)
