SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 23 รข€“ A man from Yemen is detained by ICE while, his lawyers say, they seek a third party country to sent him so.

Back in February 2025 he filed a habeas corpus petition in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press has been following it.

The filing says that he lived in Saudi Arabia with his bus driver father until he was forced to leave by Saudi immigration authorities in 2019. "He was unable to return to Yemen due to an ongoing civil war... He resided briefly in Brazil before entering the US to seek asylum."

He had a hearing scheduled for March 24, but it is has been pushed back.

This case is Ghaleb v. Joyce, et al., 1:25-cv-1505 (Garnett)
