SDNY COURTHOUSE, March 10 รข€“A man who entered the US in 2006 and is now a bus driver was detained by ICE on February 2 and placed in its facility in Goshen, New York.

On March 10 he filed a habeas corpus petition in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.

The petition says he was arrested in 2018 and pled guilty to disordering conduct. More recently, it says, he "was falsely accused around June / July 2015 for something I did not commit. The case was dismissed in its entirety and sealed. The charging document was presented to the court."

It continues that he is responsible for transporting school age children and asks, "How can I be a threat to my community if they trust me with their chidren"?

The case was assigned to Judge Gregory H. Woods, who asked for a US response in two business days.

This case is entitled Alexander v. DHS  /ICE, 1:26-cv-1952 (Woods)
