SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 16 รข€“ A couple were stopped by police while driving in a black Toyota Highlander on 126th Street and Third Avenue on October 6, 2025.

Fentantyl was found in a bag in the car and they were arrested, charged not only with drugs but also with obstructing governmental administration.

The female defendant was presented and detained on consent in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates court, which Inner City Press closely covers.  She was indicted, with another co-defendant added to the case.

On April 7 the US Attorney's Office wrote to SDNY Judge Dale E. Ho, asking to adjourn a planned April 10 conference.  Then Judge Ho docketed that she will pled guilty (or "change her plea") on April 17 at 2 pm.

The overall case is USA v. Garcia Almanza, et al., 1:25-cr-595 (Dale Ho)
