Car in East Harlem Prepares to
Plead Guilty in SDNY

COURTHOUSE,
April 16 รข A couple were
stopped by police while
driving in a black Toyota
Highlander on 126th Street and
Third Avenue on October 6,
2025. Fentantyl
was found in a bag in the car
and they were arrested,
charged not only with drugs
but also with obstructing
governmental
administration. The female
defendant was presented and
detained on consent in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates court, which Inner
City Press closely
covers. She was
indicted, with another
co-defendant added to the
case. On April 7
the US Attorney's Office wrote
to SDNY Judge Dale E. Ho,
asking to adjourn a planned
April 10 conference.
Then Judge Ho docketed that
she will pled guilty (or
"change her plea") on April 17
at 2 pm. The overall case is USA v. Garcia Almanza, et al., 1:25-cr-595 (Dale Ho)
