COURTHOUSE,
April 10 รข A man charged with
stealing from US Postal
Service boxes is up for
sentencing in the U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
on April 14. The
complaint had copies of photos
of stolen checks that he sent,
and offered for sale. He is
asking for a "non-carceral
sentence." Inner City Press is
covering the case. He pled
guilty in May 2025. His
sentencing memo by the Federal
Defender says that after an
accident on a motor scooter,
he was prescribed Percocet, a
powerful opioid. Since October
2025 he has been employed as a
cable and telecommunications
installer for [REDACTED], the
memo says / redacts. The case is
USA v. Guzman, 1:25-cr-215
(Hellerstein).
