April 15 รข A man who
pled guilt to hacking accounts
on "a sports betting site" -
DraftKings - is up for
sentencing on April 16. His defense
lawyer is asking for a year
and a day, to allow "good
time" credit, while
acknowledging that while out
on pre-trial release he
downloaded Telegram and got
remanded to the Essex County
Correctional Facility. The
original complaint described
credential stuffing attacks,
and the defendant selling
access to victim
accounts. The US Attorney's
Office wrote in and asked for
46 months imprisonment. The
sentencing is by U.S. District
Court for the Southern
District of New York Senior
Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald,
whose proceedings Inner City
Press often covers. The case is USA v. Stokes, 1:24-cr-259 (Buchwald)
