June 23 รข A man charged with
mailing meth to New Zealand
and Australia as well as New
York City was up for
sentencing on September 16
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Analisa Torres.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the
courtroom. From the thread:
Chen: I am sorry
for my scary, horrible crime Judge: How much
money did he make? AUSA: $500,000
plus. His wife purchased a
million dollar home. Judge: Has it
been forfeited? AUSA: No. It is
in Garden City. Judge: I sentence
you to ten years in prison.
Then, she said, he will likely
be deported back to
China. Jump cut to June
23, 2026 when co defendant Li
asked for a below guideline
sentence like 36 months;
sentencing is set for July 20. The case is USA v. Chen, 1:22-cr-125 (Torres)
