Sitting beside his Federal Defender, Gann cupped his ears and hopped up and down.

After a not guilty plea, he consented to detention. He was set to see the assigned District Judge Dale E. Ho on August 13.

And docketed on January 20, 2026, he pleaded guilty. Detention continued.

On April 24 defense counsel wrote in asking for time served (11 months, according to the letter), referring to firecrackers and no one getting hurt.

On May 1 the US Attorney's Office wrote in asking for 37 months, saying among other things he was not accepting responsibility.

On May 8 Inner City Press was in the courtroom and live tweeted. Thread here. Before Gann talked back, Judge Ho sentenced him to 29 months. Vlog here. The designation is still undecided. Watch this site.

The case is USA v. Gann, 1:25-cr-331 (Ho / Wang)
