SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 1 Ć¢€“ Amid expectation of NYC corruption indictments from and at the Southern District of New York, on September 24 suburban corruption came to the fore, and how.

Stewart Rosenwasser, a former county judge and senior-level prosecutor in the Orange County District AttorneyĆ¢€™s Office, was indicted and charged with accepting $63, 000 in bribes from Mout'z Soudani to investigate and prosecute his sister and nephew in a $1.9 million theft and embezzlement case.

When the FBI showed up at this door, there was reportedly an exchange of gunfire, and suicide by Rosenwasser. It's a developing story, but the (43 page) indictment is on Patreon here.

Later on September 24, Soudani was freed on $1 million bond, 7 page bond document on Patreon here.

On February 9, 2026 his trial was pushed back: "ORDER granting in part and denying in part [60] LETTER MOTION as to Mout'z Soudani (Signed by Judge Cathy Seibel on 2/9/26) (Seibel, Cathy).

On May 1, the US Attorney's Office wrote in that "on or about April 15, 2026 while the case was still pending, Mout'z Soudani, the defendant, died....We respectfully request an order of nolle prosequi."

The case is USA v. Rosenwasser, et al., 7:24-cr-555 (Seibel)
