Uber Driver Allegedly From Bangladesh Detained by ICE So Files Habeas in SDNY

SDNY COURTHOUSE, May 6 รข€“A man described as allegedly from Bangladesh now in ICE detention in 26 Federal Plaza filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on May 6, where Inner City Press found it. 

  The petition says he has resided in the US since 2023. When he entered the US he was arrested then released on recognizance under 8 USC Section 1226. He is an Uber driver.

 As of 7:25 pm on May 6, the case had not yet been assigned to a District Judge.

The case is Ahmed v. Almodovar, et al., 1:26-cv-3771 (Unassigned)
