100 CENTRE ST, July 9 รข€“ A man said to have 36 arrests brought in handcuffed into the APAR3 courtroom in 100 Centre Street, in the post-five-pm session. Inner City Press was there and live tweeted.

He is charged with grand larceny - stealing a laptop in a backpack from a McDonalds, also entering the restricted area of a deli and stealing a wallet.

ADA wants $10,000 bail.

ADA:  He has been arrested 36 times, and an escape, he has currently failed to register under SORA-

Defendant: The escape I was 19 years old, you are not supposed to bring that up Judge: Let your lawyer speak for you Defendant: I'm my own lawyer Judge: You are not

Defendant: It really hurts Judge: We can proceed without you. Have him removed. [Defendant is led handcuffed back into the holding cell] Judge: The other charges against him?

ADA: The people are serving ID notice on July 8 in Lululemon on Columbus Ave he was IDed

Defense lawyer: As you saw, my client suffers from substance abuse for some time now. When not, he works with USA charities, and Monroe College. He has served two years in the armed forces. Maybe he can go to veteran's court. I ask that you release him

Defense lawyer: He had a seizure in the precinct. Rikers is not right for him. I ask that you release him.

[Judge studies sheaf of papers]

Judge: All of these cases to the same Part, on the same day. GL & burglary, sex offender bail eligible, to Part N on July 14

Judge: He was disruptive and had to be removed from the courtroom, giving me concern he would obey any conditions of release. So $10,000 cash bail...

Among the others presented in APAR3 was a man in a cat one-piece pajama charged with smashing the phone of his girlfriend - and her face - high atop 8 Spruce Street a few blocks away. He was released and given an access order to retrieve his belongings from the apartment until midnight - but only with a police officer.
