SDNY COURTHOUSE, June 30 รข€“ A defendant charged as part of a Cargo Theft Enterprise that stole, among other things, 23,400 dozen eggs worth $51,000 (and whiskey worth $360,000) was presented in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court on June 30. Inner City Press was there, the only media in the SDNY Mag Court.

The defendant, in shorts with tattooed arms, was assigned a CJA lawyer and was given a bond package: immediate release on $100,000 unsecured bond with two co-signed, GPS and able to visit his lawyer in the District of New Jersey.

The whiskey was supposed to be shipped from Texas to New Jersey, the eggs from Pennsylvania to Utah.

There are six other co-defendant, from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia and India, have their case assigned to District Judge Andrew Carter, with a conference set for July 14.

The case is USA v. Gulian, et al., 26-cr-240 (Carter / Aaron)
