COURTHOUSE,
July 6 รข Roderick McBain has
been detained, accused of
setting fire to the Greek
Consulate in New York
City. On January
17, McBain was detained in
theU.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrates Court, which Inner
City Press covers
closely. The
complaint, presented before
Magistrate Judge Katharine H.
Parker, has numerous photos of
McBain on his way from his
Brooklyn apartment to the
Greek consulate, and of the
fire. His
bond hearing was continued to
January 19. Inner City Press
attended. Judge Parker said he
could be released on $10,000
bond and mental health care as
specified by Pre-Trial
Services. The AUSA said he had
made other threats, named
other targets, to law
enforcement upon his arrest.
But they were not named - or
notified? Jump cut to July
6 when the US Attorney's
Office wrote in recommending
no prison time, three years
probation in a July 9
sentencing. The case is now USA v. McBain, 26-cr-138 (Aaron)
