Man From Jamaica Who Entered US in 1969  With Sex Abuse Case Detained By ICE so Habeas

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 9 – A man from Jamaica in ICE detention in the Orange County Correctional Facility filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.

The petition says he is 70 years old and has lived in New York for 57 years. In 2006 he was convicted of Sexual Abuse First Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and required to register as a sex offender.

The case was assigned to Judge Andrew L. Carter, who ordered the petitioner not to be moved from SDNY, EDNY or DNJ absent further order of the court.

The case is A.A.O.S. v. Genalo, et al., 1:26-cv-5826 (Carter).
