For Death on Arthur Ave in The Bronx Jones No Capital Case Now Co-D Asks Time to Talk Plea

SDNY COURTHOUSE, July 13 รข€“  Charged with killing Clarence Adams on East 179th Street between Arthur Avenues on August 2, 2020 a defendant is now waiting to find out if DOJ will seek the death penalty. 

On January 9 the US Attorney's Office wrote to U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Lewis J. Liman seeking a 60 day delay in the conference set for January 13 as it is "still awaiting a final decision from the Capital Case Section as to whether the case will be a capital one."  

On March 12 the AUSA wrote in: "Direction from Attorney General Not To Seek the Death Penalty for Jeffrey German Murder. Document filed by USA."

On July 13 as to co-defendant MacCow, defense counsel asked to extend the motion schedule "to allow for the continuation of plea negotiations."

  This case is USA v. Jones, et al., 1:25-cr-345 (Liman)
