Maine with Guns 2 Set to Plead

April 8 รข Three defendants in
a wider case about
transporting drugs from New
York to Maine were presented
on July 24 before U.S.
District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang.
Inner City Press was there,
the only media in the SDNY Mag
Court. The trio
consisted of two men and one
woman, who was offered release
on $200,000 personal
recognizance bond with three
financially responsible
co-signers. The case
became by complaint against
one co-defendant, portrayed in
the complaint showing off
stacks of $100 bills. Fentanyl was
found in his apartment. The
superseding indictment
includes the three new
co-defendants references three
specific firearms. Life
sentences were cited or
threatened at the July 24
proceeding. Jump cut to
January 9, 2026 -
co-defendants were in the jury
box in a large courtroom on
the 26th floor of 500 Pearl
Street. The female
co-defendant is out on bond.
The lead defendant had said he
was sick and would not come.
Judge Broderick says he does
not issues force orders, urged
production and delivery of
discovery. On April 8 Judge
Broderick docketed change of
plea dates for two of the
co-defendants, April 24 and
April 29. The overall case is USA v. Carey, et al., 1:25-cr-23 (Broderick)
