COURTHOUSE,
April 6 รข A trial for a
near-deadly shooting in a
historic music studio in
Midtown Manhattan is
approaching - and the
defendant's bragging Instagram
post and Telegram messages are
at issue. On
April 6 in 100 Centre Street
Justice Cori H. Weston
continued motions in limine by
the prosecution and objections
by defense counsel for Zykil
Adamson. Inner City Press was
there, and live tweeted: Assistant DA: He
put on his Instagram, about
the shooting, adding "Now
that's tuff." Judge Weston: I
don't see it ADA: He also
wrote to others, Last person
who did this to me - so we
raise it as a motion in limine
Defense: Much of
the DA's position is
speculation... Maybe "that's
tuff" was sympathetic to the
victim ADA: He added music.
And he Googled "statute of
limitations for attempted
murder." These are admissions.
Look at this Telegram: I told
the N-word, come to the
studio. Get your gun. ADA: The basis of
this was a stolen fake gun,
and a disrespect of a woman.
This is why Swindle got shot Defense: That's
only an argument. ADA: We're not
speculating about what the
defendant is talking about.
This was posted on March 15
shortly after midnight Defense: I
have another video
conference With
that, he stepped out into the
11th floor hallway. The trial
is approaching. As is another:
two stories up Justice Curtis
Farber was presiding over a
probation case when he stopped
and reminded Inner City Press,
in the back row of the
otherwise empty courtroom, of
the upcoming Harvey Weinstein
retrial jury selection. It just don't stop in 100 Centre Street.
