April 1 รข A man from Jamaica
who was removed from the US in
2016 after conviction for
first degree robbery was
arrested again in the US in
April 2024 while allegedly
trying to sell ecstasy pills
to an undercover NYPD
officer. He was
indicted for illegal reentry,
distribution of narcotics, and
felon in possession / gun
charges. His
Federal Defender filed a
motion to suppress, and a
motion to dismiss on Second
Amendment grounds. A pre-trial
conference was pushed to April
13. On April 1
Inner City Press was in the
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
when the defendant was brought
in and pled guilty - to Count
1, illegal re-entry. A control
date for sentencing was
set. The case is USA v. Sewell, 1:25-cr-284 (Ho / Wang)
