April 8 รข A defendant arrested
in January with $300,000 in
cash in his car (then drugs
and a gun) on April 15 was
before U.S. District Court for
the Southern District of New
York Judge Jennifer H.
Rearden. Inner City Press was

AUSA: For now
there is a ten year minimum.
But with 89 more grams of
fentanyl, we'll supersede to
15-year minimum. We believe he
is a Dominican national, here
illegally - we may have
another charge. AUSA: There was a
gun, and the bag of cash
Judge: I saw the
photos. Was there also a
magazine? AUSA: Yes, next
to the gun. Defense: We're
waiting to see probable cause,
and the supposed consents to
search Judge:
Trial date Sept 16. On July 1 defense
counsel filed a 28 page
affidavit seeking to suppress
defendant's statements at 1463
Stadium Avenue for lack of
Miranda warning, then all
evidence obtained in
violations of Mapp. Jump cut to April
8, 2026 when Jose Antonio de
Vargas Cuevas was sentenced to
155 months. The case is USA v. Cuevas, et al., 1:25-cr-115 (Rearden)
