Hacker Amit Forlit Linked to Exxon Presented in SDNY Citing Speedy Trial Act

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 3 – A hacker whose lawyers have said he hacked for Exxon was quietly presented on Friday, April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrates Court, which Inner City Press closely covers.

Amit Forlit had been fighting extradition from the UK, citing conditions in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn (whose current residents include Nicholas Maduro and Luigi Mangione).

Forlit opposed any exclusion of time under the Speedy Trial Act, and Chief Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn deferred on the issue to the District Judge to whom the case has been assigned, Jesse Furman.  Letter on Patreon here
