Avenues on August 2, 2020 a
defendant is now waiting to
find out if DOJ will seek the
death penalty. On January 9 the
US Attorney's Office wrote to
U.S. District Court for the
Southern District of New York
Judge Lewis J. Liman seeking a
60 day delay in the conference
set for January 13 as it is
"still awaiting a final
decision from the Capital Case
Section as to whether the case
will be a capital
one." On March 12 the
AUSA wrote in: "Direction from
Attorney General Not To Seek
the Death Penalty for Jeffrey
German Murder. Document filed
by USA." This case is USA v. Jones, 1:25-cr-345 (Liman)
