Man Extradited from Costa Rica for Cocaine Trafficking Pleads Not Guilty So Dec 4 Next by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack SDNY COURTHOUSE, Aug 26 –   On August 13 DOJ announced "the unsealing of a Complaint and Indictment charging Gilbert Bell Fernandez, a/k/a 'Macho Coca,' with conspiring to import cocaine into the United States.  BELL FERNANDEZ was extradited from Costa Rica to the United States. The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Dale E. Ho." On August 26 Judge Ho held the arraignment; Inner City Press live tweeted it: Judge Ho: How do you plead? Bell Fernandez: Not guilty. Judge: AUSA, what is the evidence? AUSA Robles: DEA reports, recorded calls in Spanish. We will complete discovery in 30 days. Judge Ho: I usually sent another conference after the defense has had the discovery for some time. Is that OK? Federal Defense: Perhaps a conference in December. Judge: Ten weeks to review? It doesn't sound voluminous. FD: I'm out near the end of November Judge Ho: Friday, Dec 4 at 9:30 am. At that time I'll set a trial date and motion schedule. Anything else?
