As UN Bans Inner City Press for 3043th Day Qs about UN Used to Spy on Paciolla and Ceuta

As UN Bans Inner City Press for 3043th Day Qs about UN Used to Spy on Paciolla and Ceuta

UN GATE, Aug 17 – Inner City Press remains banned from UN Headquarters since July 2018, with no hearing and no appeal, and its July 25, 2026 application to enter in person and ask questions has drawn no response to date from either Secretary-General Guterres' office or the U.S. Mission, despite Ambassador Michael Waltz's own "Make the UN Great Again" rhetoric.

Submitted on the morning of August 17, 2026:

On deadline: confirm receipt of that application, and state what, if anything, either office has done about it.  On Yang Wang and Colombia: Inner City Press has been sent, and is publishing, a report addressed to ICE alleging that a UN official identified as Yang Wang — described as a former Chinese military attaché who later served as a UN military observer and staff member in Liberia, Somalia, and, for the past eight years, Colombia's UN Verification Mission (UNVMC) — may be engaged in intelligence activity on behalf of the Chinese government.

Inner City Press makes no assertion as to the truth of this anonymous report, forwarded with the note "we trust in you" and copied to USUN, the UN Secretary-General's office, and senior UN officials including SG Guterres, Catherine Pollard, Juraj Strasser ("Ethics" Office), Martha Helena Lopez, Atul Khare, Fatoumata Ndiaye (OIOS) and Rosemary Dicarlo.

It is independently relevant that Yang Wang is the same individual named in a prior whistleblower account published in this series, which described him as having had access to UN staff member Mario Paciolla's emails pleading for relocation shortly before Paciolla's 2020 death in Colombia, and as having since been promoted to D1 Chief of Mission Support over the same mission.

What are the comments and actions, if any, of Secretary-General Guterres, and separately of USUN and Ambassador Waltz, on the espionage allegation, on Yang Wang's continued role, and on the underlying Paciolla questions this outlet has asked and gone unanswered before?

On Cameroon: what are the comments and actions, if any, of Secretary-General Guterres, and separately of USUN and Ambassador Waltz, on the account of a Cameroonian national who arrived from Morocco during the mass border crossing at the end of July, describing living conditions in the enclave?

At the August 17 noon briefing, Stephane Dujarric took a few lame questions as at least one Correspondent was visibly falling asleep (in fairness, Dujarric spoke of fixing the air conditioning as well as feeling "pale inside" - but no answer to Inner City Press questioning submitted in the morning, and a ban on entering to ask the questions.

Inner City Press will continue to ask these questions daily, and to report the silence when that is the answer. Watch this site.
