Felon Spiegelman Mulls Travel to Russia to Renounce US Citizenship But VOSR Alleged

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 17 – Daniel Spiegelman has four felony convictions and is on two concurrent periods of supervised release.

He wants to leave the United States, to Russia apparently via Germany, and renounce his citizenship.

 But can he?

On April 17, 2023 U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John P. Cronan held a proceeding. Inner City Press went and covered it.

Spiegelman was assigned a CJA lawyer for the alleged violations of supervised release including applying for a passport - but whether the CJA lawyer will represent him on the renunciation of citizenship argument is to be addressed in a letter due April 28.

Inner City Press will continue to follow the case.

It is US v. Spiegelman, 20-cr-609 (Cronan)
