Man From Colombia Says ICE Told Him He Is Detained since Beds are Free so Files Habeas by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack SDNY COURTHOUSE, Aug 6 – A man from Colombia who says ICE detained him then told him it is because "now beds are available" filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.    The petition says he is afraid to return to Colombia "based on his credible fear or persecution because there of sexual orientation."   A habeas corpus petition was filed on his behalf in SDNY, and assigned to Judge Paul A. Engelmayer. He ordered that he not be removed from SDNY, EDNY or New Jersey absent further order of the Court. He has asked for an answer. The case is Bernal Morales v.
