Felon Arrested with Gun in The Bronx Asking 21 Months on August 6 Citing Jamaica Upbringing

SDNY COURTHOUSE, Aug 5 รข€“ A man charged as a felon in possession of a gun pleaded guilty on February 25, 2026 before Judge Jennifer H. Rearden of the U.S District Court for the Southern District of New York, which Inner City Press closely covers. 

  The initial complaint described the defendant at 2 am on East 228th Street in The Bronx, and cited body-worn camera footage.  

 Now for the sentencing scheduled for August 6, 2026, the Federal Defenders are asking for 21 months, citing their client's upbringing in Kingston, Jamaica getting shot at.  

 The case is USA v. John, 1:25-cr-513 (Rearden)
