In Narcos Honduras Trial Giovani Rodriguez Parties with Pineda and Canceled his Conviction

LITERARY COURTHOUSE, March 1 – After Fabio Lobo the prosecutors put on another cooperator. It was former policeman Giovani Rodriguez.

He had almost not made the big time, of DEA and SDNY. He'd been arrested for stealing drugs, not even 200 kilos. He'd been convicted but then a friend reached out to the judge and got it expunged.  

The rest was history.  

 Pineda, so recently pleading guilty, got him into the big drug game, protecting shipments with his service weapons: AR-15, M-16, and bigger. He and Pineda would party in Tony Hernandez' house in Tegucigalpa, prostitutes and shrink-wrapped bags of cash. 

  JOH's 2d lawyer Renato Stabile demanded on cross, Twenties or hundreds?  

 I saw twenties, Giovani said. Mostly he saw the 5K1, wanting time served after so much time in jail. The government's case was reaching its end.
