For Honduras Narco Trial JOH Asks To Ban Showing Guns at Issue to the Jury

SDNY EXCLUSIVE, March 2 – After the president of Honduras' brother Tony Hernandez was convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to life plus thirty years, on April 21, 2022 the ex-president himself, Juan Orlando Hernandez, was extradited to the United States.

On Saturday March 2 JOH's lawyer filed a letter seeking to bar showing examples of the guns at issues to the jury: "The Government has informed us that on Monday it intends to call as a witness, John Miller, an Officer with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF). Our understanding is that Officer Miller will identify certain guns AK-47 rocket mounted grenade • AK-103 • Keltec PMR 30 • IMI Galil • FN 57 • Glock • Uzi • RPG (anti-tank weapon; shoulder-fired rocket launcher) • Browning M2 50 Caliberbringing this arsenal of actual weapons into court serves no purpose other than to inflame and scare the jury."
