SDNY COURTHOUSE, Dec 20 -  A Syrian-American dentist in Texas has sued Byblos Bank Lebanon for, in essence, stealing his money.

The case was filed on December 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it in the docket.

Doctor Nader Kreit says he is a "successful dentist who operate several dental clinics in Texas."

In 2012 he transferred his funds from Byblos Bank Syria to Byblos Bank Lebanon, with the involvement of Wells Fargo Bank.

Then amid the Lebanese banking crisis of 2019, the bank seized his accounts. He is now seeking $19,000,000.

A similar suit against Lebanon's Audi Bank was recently allowed to go forward by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

This case is Kreit v. Byblos Bank S.A.L., 22-cv-10751 (Unassigned)
