SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 19 – With Ghislaine Maxwell in jail awaiting sentencing in June, she gave up her objection to the release of John Doe names in Alan Dershowitz' case with Virginia Giuffre.
On April 19, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Loretta A. Preska held a proceeding to unseal some by not all documents. Inner City Press, which has published a book on the Maxwell trial here, and another book including the Larry Ray trial "John list" here, live tweeted it, thread here:
Judge Preska: I'll start with Doe 17. At trial, it was said "if it's the same woman I'm thinking of." So, this is a case of mistaken identity. Accordingly there is no public interest in releasing this name.
Judge Preska: Doe 53 and 54, Glenn and Eva Dubin, have not objected to the unsealing, with an exception. So the sealed material about them may be unsealed.
Judge Preska: Doe 73 shall remain sealed. Doe 93 was listed on a flight log with Epstein and Maxwell and has not been linked to any wrongdoing. He has no relevance to the issues in dispute, so his name will remain sealed.
Judge Preska: Doe 151, Ronaldo Rizzo - some has already been unsealed. He has objected, but no justification exists for remaining unsealed. They shall be unsealed.
Judge Preska: Document 122-7 and 150-1, they implicate to Does 53 and 54 who do not object to unsealing, they shall be unsealed. 173-5 is about Doe 54, it shall be unsealed. 173-6 is also about Doe 93 - about 93, it will be sealed [or redacted.]
Judge Preska: Document 212-2, the material relating to Does 55 and 56 shall remain sealed; that about Doe 151 shall be unsealed. Document 229-1 shall also be unsealed.
