SDNY COURTHOUSE, August 12 – The SEC has sued individual defendants for operating BitConnect and raising $2 billion in "unregistered investments."

On August 11, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge John G. Koeltl held a proceeding. Inner City Press covered it.

One of the individual defendants called in and said, This is ruining my life.

He begged Judge Koeltl to dismiss the case against him. It didn't happen. Instead, there will be a referral to the NYLAG.

The case is Securities and Exchange Commission v. Brown et al., 21-cv-4791 (Koeltl)
