FEDERAL COURTS, August 20 – A man was arrested in Washington DC on a $2000 bankruptcy warrant, from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The US Attorney's Office of the District of the District of Columbia ask that he remained detained and transferred back to Texas by U.S. Marshals, presumably via the Oklahoma hub in "diesel therapy."

DDC Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather held the proceeding on Friday, August 20 past 5 pm, the last of the day. Inner City Press covered it.

The detainee / debtor, Eric C. Blue, tried to speak for himself and explain. But he was told to have his temporarily assigned counsel do all the talking. There is a $3,700 sanction on top of the $2,000.

It emerged that Judge Meriweather had, during the long break, called her NDTX counterpart, Judge Michelle V. Larson.

Blue was released, and told to appear before Judge Larson on August 31 at 9:30 am. A DDC control date was set as well, on September 2 at 2 pm before Judge Zia Faruqui.

Inner City Press will continue to follow the cases
