SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 20 รข€“  A man who a month after being suspected by police of robbing his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint allegedly returned with same gun and shot at her next boyfriend and killed the boyfriend's colleague is on trial on 100 Centre Street.

On April 20 the NYPD detective who arrested him was on the stand. Inner City Press was there:

Assistant District Attorney: At the scene, what did you find?

NYPD Detective:  The friend, Kenneth Williams, was deceased. The next boyfriend Mr. Moses had been shot in the arm. He showed me his text messages with the defendant.

[Judge Ann Scherzer called a break; Inner City Press went and caught other cases, before Judge Curtis Farber, including one defendant seemingly sleeping in the gallery until he was summoned forward and asked for a new appointed lawyer.]

ADA: After you arrested the defendant for the shooting, did you apply for a warrant for his home at  321 E. 153rd Street, Apartment 9E?

NYPD Witness: Yes.  [There's controversy about the failure to seek a warrant after the reported gunpoint robbery of the girlfriend...]

ADA: Did you take a buccal swab?  NYPD witness: Yes.   ADA: No further questions.

Judge: Come forward....[Then, after a sidebar]  See you later in the week.

The trial continues.
