SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 21 รข€“ Jared Solomon is on trial after being indicted for causing Vornado Realty Trust to pay him money to which he was not entitled, and for bank fraud against JP Morgan Chase Bank and Wells Fargo.

Presiding over the jury trial is U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Loretta A. Preska. Midday on April 20, as one government witness finished, she asked the prosecutors what was next. Inner City Press was there.

The Assistant US Attorney read into the record a long series of stipulations, ranging from photographs of 3 Beverly Road in Purchase, New York to 23 East 74th Street in Manhattan, from business records of JPM Chase and Fidelity to Betterment to aerial maps of Madison Avenue between 72nd and 74th Street.

On April 8 Judge Preska ruled that "evidence of Mr. Solomon's lifestyle spending is highly probative and inextricably intertwine with the charge crimes, citing the US v. Franzone case in SDNY which Inner City Press also covered.

Also on April 8, Solomon confirmed he had been offered a plea agreement, whcih he rejected. He is on home detention with location monitoring technology - or, was. On April 21, was convicted of one count of wire fraud, one count of aggravated identity theft, which carries a mandatory consecutive sentence of two years in prison, and two counts of bank fraud.

After setting August 4 at 10 am, Judge Preska asked to hear why Solomon shouldn't be remanded to detention.

Defense counsel said that in New York, harrassment is not a crime, only a violation, and as to threats, that people say things.

Judge Preska said, Defendant has not carried his burden, I order you remanded.

And the US Marshals moved in...

The case is USA v. Solomon, 1:24-cr-665 (Preska)
