As Skillz Platform Presses Claim Against Papaya Gaming Jury Will Not Hear Phrase In the US

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 20 – Skillz Platform is pursuing its hundreds of million dollar claim against Papaya Gaming in a jury trial presided over by U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Judge Denise L. Cote.

On April 20 outside the presence of the jury Judge Cote heard arguments about the verdict form and legal instruction. Inner City Press was there.

At issue was whether Judge Cote should strike a phrase, "in the US." Papaya is ultimately based in Israel; how much of its revenue can be attributed to the US is in question.

Judge Cote said counsel can argue that to the jury - but without the phase "in the US" being attributed to her.

The case is Skillz Platform Inc. v. Papaya Gaming, Ltd, et al., 1:24-cv-1646 (Cote)
