by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

SDNY COURTHOUSE, April 17 –A man from El Salvador now in ICE detention in Orange County Correctional Facility filed a habeas corpus petition in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, where Inner City Press found it.

The petition says he was arrested by Great Neck Police for "having an open container at the Great Neck Station of the LIRR." After that, he's been in ICE detention.

Judge Jeannette A. Vargas to whom the case was assigned scheduled a conference for April 23.

The case is Serpas v. Francis, et al., 1:26-cv-3141 (Vargas)
