In UN Scandals Exposed by Inner City Press Animal Cruelty UNMISS to UNSOS Corruption

by Matthew Russell Lee, Patreon Book Substack

UN GATE, March 2 – How corrupt is today's UN under Antonio Guterres? The follow up below is again on his mission in South Sudan, UNMISS, about which his spokespeople Stephane Dujarric and Melissa Fleming refuse all Press questions. Inner City Press has asked them, and others, about the newest sex abuse case against the UN there. Now this, from a UN whistleblower sent to Inner City Press:

Dear Mr. Matthew Russell Lee:

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) has been implicated in the frequent and inhumane killing of cats and dogs within its compound, as depicted in distressing images...

Now this:

Dear Mr. Lee:      Referring to your post on animals in South Sudan.  Almost all field missions and offices have an animal control problem of some nature and each pretty well has a solution, although the solutions are widely different.  Perhaps the opposite to UNMIS is UNSOS.  UNSOS has in place a humane solution for the caring of feral animals.  The mission has established feeding points, there is a trap, neuter and release program in place, all backed up by veterinary care.  Many lower level staff adopt feral cats as pets and bring them into their accommodations. Hats off.

While no one could accuse UNSOS of being unkind to animals, they can be considered unkind to member states money.  Over time the programs that UNSOS has put in place have costed the member states far too many millions.  Not because this is the value of the needed service, but because this is another contract payoff to local business interest, and something which under Director Q is common place.

When the SG announced funding cuts, its largely due to the payoffs and mismanagement across the system that has gotten the UN in this position. Staff who are affected by spending reductions need to look no further than their leadership to understand why.   It can be expected that these leaders will jump ship before things catch up to them

Guterres, they say, should resign or lose immunity - and end censorship. Watch this site.
